Heat shrink solder butt connectors that provide rapid, simple and reliable cable joints with no tools. These just require a heat source to fit so are ideal to keep to hand in case of an emergency or for those times when you don't want to have to carry crimp tools with you. Simply heat the connector with a heat gun to shrink the sleeving over the cable, allow the adhesive to flow and the solder to melt. This provides a water resistant seal around the cable entry points so is particularly suited for use in situations where the connection is exposed to moisture (e.g. underside of a vehicle, engine bay, etc.).

For best results we recommend using a heat gun to fit these connectors but you can also use a cigarette lighter, micro torch or soldering iron fitted a with hot air nozzle.

Difficult to use in a engine bay

Done my head in...worked great out of the van when spinning the cable over a lighter ...but in the engine bay of my t2 vw ..could not get the solder to melt with out setting fire to the connection ..managed to get one to melt a bit but ended up a bit black and burned ..I did try for a very long time to keep the flame away from the connector but the solder just did not melt its hard when the wires are tight to connectors ect as you carnt spinning the cable...should come not recommended where access is a problem and really having a open flame in any vehicle is not good.. having to buy the crimp heat shrink instead..

Hi, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you had trouble using the item in such a small space. These connectors are best used in areas where you can apply heat around the connector. A heat gun can also help as attachments can be used to circulate the heat.

I trapped and damaged wiring on my motorbike. These connectors made it very easy to reconnect the wires without using any special tools. A good product to have in my tool box. The delivery was also spot on arriving when stated. 12volt planet will be my go to company for electrical products in the future.
