This high quality, portable, waterproof 40W folding solar kit is designed for charging 12V lead-acid batteries in vehicles and boats (e.g. 4x4s, motorhomes, caravans, campervans, narrowboats, yachts etc.) or any other application utilising a 12V battery (e.g. wild camping, off-grid etc.). Everything is supplied to allow you to start using the kit immediately including an integrated, fully waterproof 10A solar charge controller & 5m of cable with a battery plug, fuse and crocodile clips. Simply unfold the panels, adjust the tilt angle and position them to point directly at the sun, then connect to your battery.

The high efficiency 20W +  20W folding panels are made from high quality monocrystalline solar cells and the charge controller has an IP67 waterproof rating, meaning it can be used in all weathers. The charge controller is fully automatic with a comprehensive set of enhanced protection features built-in, and it supports all lead-acid battery types (flooded, sealed, Gel). The factory default charge profile is set to sealed with a 14.4V absorption voltage, which should be suitable for most 12V lead-acid batteries, but this can be changed to be optimised for other led-acid battery types via a PC/laptop and free software (note: requires an optional accessory cable - please call us for details).

The panel frame features a carrying handle and locking latches, making the folded kit secure and easy to transport. The integrated stand is easy to set up and is adjustable to allow you to angle the panel directly towards the sun to harvest the maximum amount of energy. The kit comes with a sturdy storage case that features a layer of foam within the lining to protect the panel and frame from accidental damage during transportation and storage. The panel also has plastic corner protectors that further reduce the risk of damage.

This kit comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty and the solar cells are guaranteed to produce at least 90% of the nominal power after 10 years (80% after 25 years).
