The CBE BMTCO carbon monoxide (CO) gas detector has been specifically designed for the campervan, motorhome, caravan, RV and boat markets, and has a 10 year sensor life.
CO is a poisonous gas that is released from the combustion of any fossil fuel such as wood, coal, oil, natural gas, fuel oils, propane, butane, gasoline, diesel, etc. It is an odourless, colourless and non-irritating gas that can escape from pipes, cooking and heating appliances that are not kept in perfect working order or that are faulty. In the human body, “CO” binds to the blood haemoglobin and reduces the oxygen supply. In high concentrations, CO can kill in a few minutes.
The detector requires a 12V DC supply so can be powered directly from your vehicle's electrical system, and has a very low current consumption of 15mA. A green LED indicates that the unit is working correctly and on detection of the presence of CO, a buzzer will sound and a red LED will flash. The unit also has a 250mA auxiliary output that can be used to trigger an external device such as an alarm, buzzer, relay, light etc.
The facia unclips to allow access to the screw holes and the unit can either be recess mounted, or surface mounted using the supplied spacer (fixings are not included).
