Never used anything like this before but the video on 12v planet website was very helpful and it worked really great using a hammer. I would have preferred to use a vice but mine wasn't big enough to fit it in but the hammer worked fine. I did a pull test on the terminasl afterwards and they were crimped solid so all good.

Wanted to try this tool for a small batch.
I just placed it on a piece of wood and used the hammer and it crimped ok.
A cheap alternative to the ratchet crimping tool

Works well, ideal if you are doing jobs occasionally and don't want to spend big money on a crimping tool.

Works just as it should and gives really good quality crimps. Ideal for a small install. You probably wouldnít want to be using it all day everyday but itís ideal for the occasional job

I was struggling to find something to crimp up connectors for 25mm wiring, this little gem does it with ease.
The spring loading holds the connector in place well. I used a solid bench vice and had to put a bit of pressure to it and it worked a treat. Didnít hammer it so not sure how that would cope. Effective piece of kit.
A satisfying and useful bit of kit

If you can't justify the cost of a hex crimper, this makes an excellent substitute. It's a bit more faff, but produces a neat and strong crimped joint - sort of triangular shape.
Not having a vice I used the hammer technique. Provided you have a firm place to stand the gadget it works well. Be aware that the Anderson Powerpole connector terminals are made of much harder metal than the copper tube terminals. The latter can be done with a heavy rubber mallet, but the former need a club hammer. Good result either way though.

I was sceptical this was going to be any good. But didnt fancy price tag of the crimps. So give it a go I did. Love it! Excellent does wat it says it dies and very well. 5*

Needed to crimp some battery cables, and didn't want to spend nearly £100 on a proper crimper, then I realised due to the size of the cables, I'd require 2 different crimpers, bringing the cost up to £250!! BUT then I saw this manual crimper for £20 odd. For the amount of terminals I required, it was a no brainer!
So, the crimper arrived, and 1st thoughts was it was a really solid bit of kit. Now I'd never intended to use a hammer with it - I saw that only as a field repair if required on the road, the plan all along was to use my vice. Walking into the workshop thought, I suddenly remembered I had a press somewhere! So, in it went. the cable was 70mm, so fairly chunky, and a great test....and....what can I say - it was perfect! made a really neat secure crimp, could not be more happy! I've no idea what the numbers on the crimp mean, so I just went by feel. I would highly recommend this for the money, and if I was rich....I'd probably still use this one!
