These CCSB conduit reducing closure clips from Harnessflex have a 3 in 1 function:
- Strengthening and finishing
They can be used to strengthen and neatly finish the cut end of conduit, particularly split conduit where they prevent cable exposure through the split. For example, a clip with a reducing diameter of 16 - 10mm can be used over the cut end of 10mm OD conduit.
- Conduit fitting outlet reduction (hinged fittings only)
They can be used to reduce the outlet size of a hinged conduit fitting in order to accept a smaller conduit size. For example, a clip with a reducing diameter of 16 - 10mm can be fitted over the cut end of 10mm OD conduit and then placed into a hinged fitting that accepts 16mm OD conduit.
These clips are also stackable using the external grooves, so can be used one inside another to provide further reducing options.
- Improved crush strength & strain relief
When placed around the conduit at the point of entry to a hinged conduit fitting, the clip provides 50% greater resistance to compression (due to bending) and mechanical strain and increases pull-off force. For example, 10mm OD conduit could be placed into a 10mm OD fitting, and a 16 - 10mm reducing clip placed around the conduit next to the fitting entry.
These clips can be used in combination to reduce outlet size and provide strain relief on the same fitting.
