The Sargent EC328 kit is an all-in-one 'plug-and-play' electrical system for campervans, motorhomes, caravans and other leisure vehicles. These complete kits are very popular amongst professional and DIY converters alike for their integrated design and ease of installation. All the major components you need for your installation are supplied, including fully built wiring harnesses for the 230V AC and 12V DC parts of the system, fresh water level sensors (high/low), waste water float sensor and external temperature probe. This kit is especially suited to larger vehicles such as LWB vans and motorhomes as it features longer wiring harnesses than Sargent's EC155 kit and has more features.
EC328 Power Supply Unit
The EC328 safely manages all your 12V and 230V distribution in one compact enclosure and contains a powerful 300W, 25A variable voltage charger for re-charging wet lead-acid leisure batteries* from a mains hook-up, a split charging function for re-charging wet lead-acid leisure batteries from the vehicle alternator (Euro 4 & earlier vehicles ✝) and a dual output solar controller that provides simultaneous charging of the leisure and starter batteries from a solar panel of up to 120W.
The 230V distribution system comprises 3 MCBs & an RCD to supply power to 3-pin sockets, heater, water heater etc. as well as the integrated 12V battery charger. The 300W charger can supply up to 25A and is capable of both charging your leisure battery and powering your 12V systems at the same time (the 25A output is shared, e.g. 3A used for powering 12V circuits leaves 22A for battery charging). The 12V distribution system comprises 12 circuits protected with automotive blade (ATO) fuses for powering internal lights, fridge, water pump, hob ignition, ventilation fan, 12V sockets, heater fan etc. as well as protecting the connection to the 12V charger.
EC328 Control Panel
The EC328 control panel is a fully-featured, multi-functional control unit that displays a host of information including battery voltage, battery current, external temperature, fresh and waste water levels, clock with alarm, an event timer (to automatically turn the 12V power on and off at set times) and system warning messages. It has a number of physical buttons with indicator lamps to control functions such as Main 12V power ON/OFF, Pump(s) ON/OFF, Aux power ON/OFF, Battery selection (starter/leisure) etc. and all further information is provided via the LCD display. The coloured surround used on the EC328 Control Panel is a grey 3-way outer frame from the CBE modular switch & socket system. It can be swapped for any colour 3-way outer frame so you can match it with the rest of your CBE components, if required.

✝ IMPORTANT NOTE:
This kit is intended for installation in vehicles that have a standard alternator (Euro 4 spec engine or earlier) and the split charging feature will not work effectively in vehicles with a Euro 5 or 6 spec engine. If you wish to fit this kit in a vehicle with a Euro 5 or 6 spec engine then you will need to disable the split charging feature in the kit and fit a separate battery-to-battery (DC-DC) charger to charge your leisure battery from your alternator. Please contact Sargent directly if you require detailed technical support in relation to this.
Sargent now produces its own DX320 20A DC-DC charger for this purpose which can be found here (other DC-DC chargers can be used).
