This 3-stage battery charger from UK manufacturer Rovert Electrical will keep your wet lead-acid deep-cycle leisure battery in best possible condition and prolong its life whilst connected to mains power on-site or at home. It offers fully automatic charging so you can leave it connected without damaging your battery.  An additional feature of this charger is that it can be used as a Power Supply Unit (PSU) to directly power 12V appliances whilst connected to mains and it has in-built protection against short-circuit, over-current and thermal overload. An output is provided to connect a remote LED to indicate charging status and the case has 4 holes for mounting to a flat surface (horizontal or vertical mounting).

Please note: Battery connection leads are not included but we recommend using 4mm² thin wall cable with 6.3mm fully insulated female blade terminals to connect to the charger.  This unit is not fitted with a 3-pin plug as it is intended to be hard-wired into a consumer unit, but one can be used if required.

Recommended for wet lead-acid leisure batteries with a capacity in the range of 160 - 250Ah.

Robert automatic battery charger

I wanted an automatic battery charger for my trailer. I considered off the shelf 'car type' chargers, but have found their ratings misleading, i.e. a 12A rating really is closer to 1-2A. I connected the Rovert 12V 25A charger to my 220Ah leisure battery and got a rock steady 25.4A charge which rapidly charged my battery and then dropped to a trickle charge for maintenance. It does what it says on the tin, no more no less!

Excellent

Bought this to replace a 25 year old Zig charger in my caravan that had recently failed, leaving my leisure battery looking very poorly. Thought the battery was toast as i'd had it on a trickle charger for a few days with no signs of it coming back to life. 24 hours after installing the Rovert unit the battery was back in action with it's magic eye glowing a healthy green.

I have had the 25a version fitted to my boat for over a year now and it has performed faultlessly. If you're in two minds which charger you should buy, I recommend this one.

Hi. I've had the 25a version in my American Motorhome for just shy of two years. No problems to report, keeps my 3x110ah batteries nicely topped up and....it's made in Preston, Lancs. Great little charger at a great price.
