Description

This high-quality, intelligent 3-stage battery charger from UK manufacturer Rovert Electrical will keep your wet lead-acid deep-cycle leisure battery in top condition and prolong its life whilst connected to mains power on-site or at home. It offers fully automatic charging so you can leave it permanently connected without damaging your battery.  It can also recover 'dead' batteries that have been deeply discharged and which might otherwise have to be replaced. An additional feature of this charger is that it can be used as a Power Supply Unit (PSU) to directly power 12V appliances whilst connected to mains and it has in-built protection against short-circuit, over-current and thermal overload. There is an output to connect up a remote LED to indicate charging status and the case has 4 holes for mounting to a flat surface (horizontal or vertical mounting).

Please note:  Battery connection leads are not included but we recommend using 4mm2 thin wall cable with 6.3mm fully insulated female blade terminals to connect to the charger.  This unit is not fitted with a 3-pin plug as it is intended to be hard-wired into a consumer unit, but one can be used if required.

Recommended for wet lead-acid leisure batteries with a capacity in the range of 90 - 120Ah.

Replacement for BCA Leisure PS726
Monday, 20 August 2018  |  Martin

After investigating Bailey PSU failure I decided not to replace like-for-like (easy option) because the unit was badly made (at least 2 dry joints) and given wholly inadequate ventilation for a commercially rated unit.

Decided to fit the Rover in a clear area for ventilation purposes and also fit a !2V Planet battery isolator switch wired up so that I can use the bulk charger facility when necessary without stressing caravan 12V components. Works a treat - better system than supplied by OEM.

Seems to work well

I’ve only used this for a short time but it seems to be doing a good job. I have three leisure batteries in the motor caravan and needed a way to keep them topped up and in good condition. Connect it up, set it to the right mode (PSU or Charger) using the slide switch and away it goes. They’d been left for a few months and it topped them up at full rate in a few hours and then went into trickle charge mode. Very pleased with it so far.

Bought to replace a Zig charger, the original now 24 years old.
The replacement fitted into the existing space and the wiring needed only a minor change. Once installed it worked just fine at less cost and witty an up to date system. As the advertising said.

The Zig in my Autotrail ceased to function, so had a look around on-line and in local shops and decided on this one. Prompt next day delivery and fitted where Zig was. All connected up and working. Will know more when I next go away in motorhome.

Looks good and just what I've been looking for but not yet installed (waiting for Santa to deliver). However I've talked to the suppliers and I'm confident it will do the job!

Bought this as a replacement for a Zig unit albeit this unit was a little larger and had to adapt some other equipment everything seems to be working well. Have not been away in the caravan since fitting the new unit so have not yet given it a real test
