A good surface mount fuse solution 29 April 2020 | Ian
If you need to surface mount a single car type blade fuse (up to 20A) these are a practical and neat solution. There are a few minor “niggles”, hence only 4 stars and not 5: the tab (singular) that fixes it into the hole is only at one end, so you do need to be quite accurate when cutting the hole as there is minimal lengthwise “wiggle room” - and if the hole is too short the tab intrudes into the fuse space slightly. Also there are gaps either side of the fuse (necessary to insert a fuse removal tool etc) but if the surface the holder is fitted into is less than 12mm deep there are holes through to the rear - this can allow dirt/dust in, and if you have anything rear lit nearby it allows light out at night. I fixed this by putting some heat shrink on the rear, but this can only be done once it is fitted in place.
Excellent Panel Mount Add-a-Fuse 29 November 2019 | Fergus
Needed to fuse a 12v socket and power lead to a portable fridge/freezer in my campervan. These panel mounted fuse holders are easy to fit and connect with female spade connectors. They do project quite a bit behind the panel though, so make sure you check this in the product specs.
