Easy way to add two USB charging points. The blue LED light is covered by the supplied rubber cap when not charging so you don't get distracted at night by the bright light!

I decided to fit this socket as I was having problems with plugging my phone chargers into a 12v Clipsal socket via a cigar lighter adapter cable as the connection was reliable. Easy to fit and I also didn't bother with the rectangular faceplate. Mine is wired directly to the leisure battery so I also fitted a fuse and will probably fit a switch at some point.

I fitted this socket as a replacement for a broken cigarette lighter in my Audi. It fits nicely and seems to work fine for charging phones, dash cams etc. and the power is nice and clean so I don't get that whine that you can get with cheap lighter adaptors powering audio gadgets.

Mounted this on an 18mm chipboard panel in campervan next to existing 12v power outlet as we have lots of gadgets that need re-charging via a USB socket. Also fitted a separate on/off switch in case the 'blue glow' became a nuisance at night or whilst we are away from the van. The faceplace looks a bit 'cheap' (shiny, waxy looking plastic) so didn't use it in my installation, relying instead on just the ring nut on the back and in my opinion, looks neater this way. Charging will take longer if you use both sockets at once. An additional cost for you might be a 29mm hole cutter if you don't have one already and a separate on/off switch if you choose to install one. You'll also need spade connectors etc unless you intend to use a soldering iron.
